Owner, Instructor, Manager
My name is Myriam. I’m an animal lover, former teacher, wife, mom, and animal first aid instructor.
I believe in what I do as I am passionate about animal welfare.
My goal is to educate owners not only to be better equipped to respond to emergencies but also to understand prevention and the importance of welfare for animal health.
I was born and raised in Germany.
At the age of 6 I got my first cat and finally convinced my parents to add a dog at 16.
My horse love started at my grandparents farm. But where others sought to ride faster and jump higher, I was always drawn mostly to the care and behavior of these beautiful creatures.
Through my husband’s military service when I did not feel comfortable owning a horse I volunteered and leased with the goal to learn whatever I could about them and what makes them tick.
At our last duty station, I had the opportunity to learn a lot about illness, injury, and trauma – both mental and physical – as I volunteered at a rescue.
Having settled in Goffstown, New Hampshire I finally got my own horse and keep learning. We now live with a multitude of animals.
When I took my Equi-First Aid course I knew I wanted to teach it too and signed up to get certified. Adding the Canine and Feline certifications followed logically.
In 2024, I qualified as Lead Trainer to assist in the onboarding of Equine First Aid new instructors. I am hoping to spread my knowledge to my new team mates and help them find success along their journey.
With my own animals I have embraced positive reinforcement as my training method. Whether I am working with my untamed mustang who joined us in 2024, my traumatized senior pony, the troublemaker goats or my cats, R+ helps me connect while giving them choice to opt out when it gets overwhelming.
